IRCTC Registration Process & Ticket Booking In 2020

IRCTC i.e. Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation. Irctc is an official application or website by Indian Railways, that generates online tickets for indian rails.



If anyone wants to book online train tickets then he have to be a registered user in IRCTC application or website.

IRCTC provides verious number of services, such as Online train ticket booking, Booked history, PNR status checking, Imudra and much more related to train. 

IRCTC also launched IRCTC Air for plain ticket booking, we will discuss about that later.

Nowadays morr than 200000-250000 people booked train tickets through IRCTC application or website though due to covin 19 the booking is only available for special trains with selected dates. You can check the available trains in IRCTC application

To be a registered user in IRCTC, follow these steps below-

<1. Install IRCTC application from playstore

2. Open the app and click on 'Login' button on the upper right corner

3. Click 'User register?' button 

4. Now fill up the form including your Name, DOB, Gender, Status, Occupation, User id, Password and Confirm Password and Mobile number and email and press 'Continue' button

5. Fill your address details and continue

6. Now otp will be send to your mobile number and email id click ok.

7. Again give your user id and password which you just save and press login,

8. Now you will have to set a new m-pin

9. Now give two otps which you have received in your mobile and email.

That's it. You have successfully registered in IRCTC application.

To book ticket watch the video or follow the steps wrote below- 


1. Login to your IRCTC application

2. Click on 'Plan My Journey'

3. Select your Boarding Station and your Destination station 

4. Now Select your Journey date

5. Now press 'Search Trains' button

6. The available trains will be shown with train number, departure date, time and station location. Click on your desired train
7. Select class

8. Now the availability and the waiting list of that class will be shown to you and in that page you will see the fare details. Click on 'Review Details'

9. Now you have to add passenger list. Click on add new and fill the form with passenger name, age, dob, berth preference etc and click add passenger, passenger will be added. Now scroll down the page and fill up destination address with Address Line 1, Pin, City, State, District, P.O. etc.

10. Now select the payment mathod, either 'Pay through debit card, credit card, netbanking' or 'Pay through upi'

11. Now click 'Process to Pay'

12. The payment page will be loaded. You need to select Bhim/Upi option.

13. Then write down your bhim upi id and click on pay.

14. Now go to your bhim upi app and pay successfully.

15. After payment successful, go to IRCTC app again, you can see that the ticket is generated. You will also receive message and mail in your registered mobile and email.


Now if you want to save or print a pdf file of that ticket then follow these steps-

1. Open your browser and go to 'https://www.irctc.co.in'

2. Now login to IRCTC website with your user id and password.

3. How click on the three line on the upper left side.

4. Now scroll down and click on my account

5.Now click on my transaction

6. Click on Last booked history

7. Now you can see the ticket which you have just booked, click on that ticket and you can see 'Three Dot' on the upper right side. Click on that 'Three Dot'

8. Now you can see there is an option named 'Print E-ticket', click on that and you wil be able to print or save that file as pdf.
